Forest of Dean UKIP Elect Parliamentary Candidate Steve Stanbury

steveAfter an evening of lively discussion and questioning at the Hustings on Thursday night Steve Stanbury won the election to be UKIP in Forest of Dean’s Parliamentary Candidate next May.

Chairman Richard Leppington congratulated him on his victory and welcomed him on board. “I am looking forward to working with Steve over the next few months and subsequent years. He will be an excellent candidate and is looking forward to meeting as many people from the Forest of Dean area as possible”

The final result was a very close call between Steve and Alan Preest who immediately offered his full support for the General Election campaign. “Naturally I would have preferred to win but I am convinced that Steve will make an excellent candidate. From a personal point of view his candidacy will allow me to concentrate on the extremely important District Council elections taking place at the same time next May. After which I look forward to leading a very strong delegation of hardworking UKIP District Councillors to Coleford.”

Steve has many years’ experience campaigning and is looking forward to getting on with the job of shaking up the current stale political class. Steve is married to Linda who is also a UKIP member and committed to taking an active and energetic part in his campaign.

In a positive acceptance speech Steve promised to bring back fairness and common sense to all those living in the Forest of Dean
